Muqarnas is a form of architectural ornamented vaulting, derived from a complex set of divisions run over an arc, producing a sort of cellular structure, sometimes also called a stalactite or honeycomb vault. It was used for domes and especially half-domes in entrances, and iwans mostly in traditional Persian architecture.

The Grasshopper3d definition lets us have full control over 24 parameters that determine the formation of a full muqarnas. Each parameter decides a small bit of the whole form. The interface allows real-time observation of the generated model.
